About the association

The Omani Lawyers Association is a professional framework that was established on March 17, 2007, to represent the legal community in the Sultanate of Oman and enhance the status of the legal profession, within the legal framework regulating the profession under Royal Decree No. 96/108 concerning the Law of Advocacy. The association works to support lawyers, defend their interests, raise the level of professional practice, and spread legal awareness in society, in addition to organizing legal conferences and events that contribute to the development of legislation and the promotion of legal culture. The association also plays a social role through its humanitarian initiatives, the most prominent of which is the "Relief from Distress" initiative aimed at helping those in need. Today, the association represents a professional platform that brings lawyers together under one umbrella, and works to advance the profession and enhance its mission in serving justice and society.

The Omani Lawyers Association and the Sectoral Skills Unit for Legal Consultations

The partnership between the Omani Lawyers Association and the Sectoral Skills Unit for Legal Consultations comes within the framework of supporting and developing specialized national skills in the legal sector by aligning labor market requirements with the necessary legal competencies.

These efforts are in line with the directions of Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes building an effective justice system, developing national competencies, and promoting a knowledge society and the rule of law. Through this partnership, the association seeks to contribute to building a professional legal system capable of keeping pace with legislative, economic and social developments in the Sultanate.

Objectives of the Omani Lawyers Association in cooperation with the Sector Skills Unit for Legal Consultations

  • Developing the skills and competence of lawyers to meet the needs of the labor market and Oman Vision 2040
  • Improving the quality of legal services and enhancing the profession in the legal profession.
  • Supporting the rule of law and contributing to the modernization of the legislative system.
