Advisory committees

The advisory committees of the Sectoral Skills Unit for Legal Consultations are specialized committees formed to support the unit’s work technically and professionally. They include legal, academic and professional expertise and work to provide opinions and advice in the areas of skills development, preparing professional standards, and ensuring that the unit’s outputs are aligned with the needs of the labor market and the legal sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

These committees are one of the organizational tools that support the governance of the unit’s work, and contribute to enhancing the quality of decisions and outputs, and consolidating the principle of partnership with stakeholders in the legal sector.

General objectives of advisory committees

The advisory committees aim to:

1. Supporting the Sector Skills Unit for Legal Consulting in achieving its strategic objectives.

Contributing to the development of national professional standards for legal professions.

3. Providing specialized technical advice in the areas of expertise of each committee.

Ensuring the quality and credibility of the unit's outputs and their alignment with labor market needs.

Enhancing the participation of national and sectoral expertise in developing legal skills.

Supporting corporate governance within the unit through expert consulting.

Contributing to raising the efficiency of practitioners in the legal sector and enhancing professional professionalism

The advisory committees consist of four specialized committees that work in an integrated manner to support the achievement of the unit's objectives and ensure the quality of its outputs.

First: The National Professional Standards Package Committee:

The National Professional Standards Package Committee is a specialized committee within the Sector Skills Unit for Legal Consultations. It is responsible for developing, preparing, and updating national professional standards packages for legal professions. This ensures the identification of the competencies, knowledge, and skills required for each profession or professional level, and their alignment with labor market needs and the National Skills Framework in the Sultanate of Oman. The committee works to establish clear and applicable professional standards that contribute to raising the quality of professional performance, enhancing professionalism, and supporting training, qualification, and accreditation pathways within the legal sector.
